Dr Eva Cwynar, My Philosophy

Together, we’ll chart a course toward wellness. Along the way, I’ll listen to what you have to say, and make sure that you’re comfortable as we go forward.

I believe that environment plays a major role in illness, that every therapy prescribed should be specific in regards to medication and/or holistic approach.

I also incorporate a worldview into my practice of medicine. I have an extensive academic background, but I combine my book smarts with world smarts. In my lifetime, I’ve traveled to over 100 countries in a never-ending quest to incorporate alternative philosophies into western medicine. I’m constantly seeking to find out how indigenous peoples deal, both medically and philosophically, with the issues and ills they face.

I’ve spent time in South America and studied with tribal doctors in Africa. I’ve learned about the Aborigine survival habits in Australia and the meditation techniques of monks in Asia.

Medicine is also in my blood. My mother is a physician who devotes her life to the underprivileged children of the South Bronx. It’s part of my identity and why I’ve spent years trying to better understand who I am in order to better help who you are… and who you can be.

Why do you get up in the middle of the night to eat? Why do your emotions control you? Everything we do, each action we take, has a domino effect causing another reaction. Understanding the why helps us get to the what.

We’ll investigate you and your symptoms together until we find the answer. I’ll apply a holistic approach to evidence and technology-based medicine in order to treat you. You. That’s my treatment philosophy.
